Taipei Bird Market
This project arose spontaneously while I was traveling in Taiwan. While exploring the area between the Confucius Temple
and the Baoan Temple, I came across a man and his group of about 2 dozen bird cages.
The cages contained many striking examples of various species of exotic birds. I placed my binaural microphones amidst the cages and captured
the sounds of the birds and the wide variety of songs they sing.
Altered versions of these recordings would later become part of the Chicago Sound Canopy project.
