1990s
Mixing techno live on the radio was and still is an
important cultural phenomenon, following in the footsteps
of world-famous Techno DJ Shows like Chicago's Hot Mix 5
and the Super Mix 6, as well as Detroit's Electrifyin' Mojo
and his Midnight Funk Association, to which I was exposed
at a very early age. The roots of techno were taking hold
by the 90's, and at this time I was coming from a more
industrial/goth influenced area of interest. Techno was
clearly the next step for me, taking machine music into a
less abrasive and less restraining area of aesthetics.
These early shows allowed me to trace this progression into
techno and more importantly for me, ambient-influenced
electronic music. More details will be posted as I dig up
more info pertaining to this early period.
